Beachy ("the App") is provided by Flynn Interactive ("we", "us", "our"), a business registered in Western Australia, Australia (ABN 42 508 722 053). This policy explains what information the App handles and how. Beachy is designed to be privacy-first: it works without an account, and your data stays on your device wherever possible.

Device location (optional). With your permission, the App uses your device location to show conditions for where you are. The App requests iOS "While Using the App" access only, and asks iOS for kilometre-level accuracy, which is all a weather forecast needs. You can deny or revoke this permission at any time in iOS Settings; the App then works entirely from places you search for or save manually.
Place search. When you search for a location, your search text is processed by Apple's Maps services (MapKit) to return matching places. This is handled by Apple under Apple's privacy policy; we do not receive or store your search queries.
Saved places. Places you save are stored only on your device (see section 5).
To retrieve a forecast, the App sends the coordinates of the place you are viewing (your current location or a place you searched for or saved) to a weather data provider. The request contains coordinates, requested forecast length, and standard network information (such as your IP address, which any internet request necessarily carries). It does not contain your name, an account identifier, a device identifier, or an advertising identifier. Coordinates identify a place, not a person.

We do not operate any server that receives your data, other than the proxy described in section 4.
Requests for Australian data pass through a small proxy we run on Cloudflare Workers. Its purpose is to protect our data-provider API key and to cache forecasts so the same request is not repeatedly sent upstream.
What it processes and stores:
The following is stored locally on your device using standard iOS app storage, and is never transmitted to us:
Notifications are local notifications, scheduled on your device by the App itself based on forecast data it has already fetched. There is no push-notification server and no device push token is sent anywhere.
Deleting the App deletes all of this data.
The in-app feedback form does not transmit anything itself: it opens Apple Mail with a pre-filled draft addressed to our support inbox. If you choose to send it, we receive your email address, whatever you wrote, and, if you left the "include device info" option enabled, your iOS version and App version. We use this information only to respond to your feedback and improve the App, and we do not add it to any marketing list. You can ask us to delete your feedback correspondence at any time.
If you have opted in to sharing analytics with developers in your iOS settings, Apple may provide us with aggregated, anonymised crash and usage statistics. We do not receive data that identifies you. TestFlight beta builds additionally let you send feedback and crash reports to us through Apple; that is governed by Apple's TestFlight terms.
We do not collect your name, email address (except when you choose to email us), contacts, photos, advertising identifier, precise movement history, or browsing history. The App contains no advertising, analytics, or tracking SDKs. We do not track you across other apps or websites, and we do not sell or rent personal information.

These parties act under their own privacy policies, which we encourage you to read. We do not give any of them information that identifies you.
We hold almost no data about you. Forecast caches on your device and on the proxy expire automatically. The only personal information we retain is correspondence you send us (section 6), which we keep only as long as needed to handle it. All App network requests use HTTPS.
The App is intended for a general audience and is not directed at children. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
We handle personal information in accordance with the Australian Privacy Principles under the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth). Because Beachy stores your data on your device and we keep no user accounts, in most cases your information is already in your control: you can clear it by deleting saved data or the App.
You may contact us to access or correct information we hold about you (in practice, only feedback correspondence), or to make a privacy complaint. If you are not satisfied with our response, you can complain to the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner (oaic.gov.au).
If you are in the EU, UK, or another region with its own privacy law, we rely on your consent for location access (which you may withdraw in iOS Settings at any time) and on our legitimate interest in operating the App for the minimal processing described above. You may have additional rights, such as access, erasure, and objection; contact us to exercise them.
We may update this policy from time to time. The "last updated" date shows the current version, and material changes will be reflected in an App update.
