Frequently asked

Why don't I see tide times for my beach?

Beachy shows real tide-station predictions only. For Australian coasts, tides come from the Bureau of Meteorology via WillyWeather and are shown for the nearest tide-capable station within range. Where no live tide feed exists, Beachy honestly displays "tide data not available" rather than inventing a value. Tides are not currently available outside Australia.

Does Beachy need my location?

No. Location access is optional. If you allow it, Beachy uses reduced (kilometre-level) accuracy to show conditions where you are. You can always search for and save beaches manually instead. See our Privacy Policy for details.

Does Beachy work offline?

Your last conditions are cached and load instantly, then refresh in the background when you're connected. Saved locations and settings are stored on your device.

How much does Beachy cost?

Beachy is currently in development and TestFlight beta. There are no accounts, no ads and no trackers.

How is my privacy handled?

Beachy is privacy-first: no account, no analytics SDKs, no advertising identifier, and your saved data stays on your device. Read the full Privacy Policy.

Is Beachy safe to rely on for water safety?

No. Beachy is for recreational planning only and is not a substitute for official warnings or professional judgement. Always check your local meteorological service, lifeguard and surf safety advice, and posted beach signage before entering the water, and follow the instructions of lifeguards and local authorities at all times.
